The Reebok RealFlex family of products sprouted the original Reebok Nano. I led the User Research for this product which ultimately defined a new category of product in the industry. The focus on function and natural movement was key to this successful product category. We employed consumer profiles, iterative testing, prototyping, expert validation during this design process. Many functional design cues that we developed in this exhaustive process are now present on training shoes from many global brands. Midfoot rubber wrap, reinforced toe protection, flat/stable midsole, and micro-traction elements can be found on Nike’s Metcon, NoBull Trainer, Innovate, and the New Balance Minimus.
